Every time I think of Angelo, I have to laugh. I don't think I've ever met anyone who could make his brothers so frustrated and mad, and yet somehow always come out the rose. Angelo was MUCH better at never letting them see him sweat than his brothers are. For those who do not know me, I have been Dominick's life partner for the past 10 years, and Angelo could aggravate the heck out of Dominick. I am reminded now of the last such occasion and after literally months and months of not speaking, Angelo's birthday was about a week away. Seizing on this opportunity I began to harangue Dominick that he should get over this and call Angelo,.... his birthday,...... it's the perfect occasion,..... it's the right thing to do,.... this has gone on long enough all the usual things ...Dominick REFUSED...NO..he was NOT calling that #$%@@ screw his birthday and him too! I continued to harangue him DAILY, reminding him he was not so innocent. OMG FINALLY the DAY of Angelo's birthday he agreed..reluctantly but nevertheless he agreed and dialed the phone. I was so happy, he was doing the right thing, he would be happy he called etc etc...I waited as the phone rang.. 1st ring...2nd ring...3 rings.."$$##@@ not going to answer" Dominick said../and then there it was..the click as the line picked up...and without missing a beat Angelo said ......" I THOUGHT YOU DIED" ...and just like that 6 months of silence was shattered in an outburst of laughter. He will truly be missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace.
