Anthony G. Del Boccio

Visitation Date: Sunday, December 6, 2020
Visitation Time: 3:00-8:00 p.m.
Interment: Queen of Heaven Cemetery

Anthony “Tony” Gerard Del Boccio beloved husband of Lily, loving father to Nicole (Chris) VanHulle and Bridget Del Boccio, devoted stepfather to Lauren Napolitano and Jay Napolitano, proud grandfather to Maizy VanHulle, dear brother to Fran (Tony) Aiello and Geralyn Natale, fond uncle to Samantha (Anthony) Cianciolo, Bobby Natale, Rachel Aiello, Alecia (Kenny) Green, and Anthony Aiello, passed away on November 26, 2020.

63 years ago, on January 22, 1957, Anthony “Tony” Gerard Del Boccio was born to Tony and Jennie Del Boccio. Tony grew up in Chicago, Illinois with a passion for cars. This passion was realized when he became an owner/partner of independent auto parts stores started in part by his father. He was happy to assist anyone who walked into his shop, and he truly treated his customers like family. Tony took pride in the honest advice he offered to all. His humor and wit would instantly put you at ease.

Tony loved his family very much; he raised two wonderful daughters and recently became an adoring grandfather. Tony met his match in Lily, and they were married in 2011. During their years together, they enjoyed tropical vacations, watching movies on the couch, and most of all, time spent laughing with each other. He will surely be remembered for his love and generosity to anyone who crossed his path. He will be sorely and forever missed, but his legacy will carry on in each one of us. Though he is gone, we know in our hearts that Tony will forever be tinkering in a Heavenly garage doing what he loved most.

In memory of Tony and all that he stood for, we humbly ask that, in lieu of flowers or gifts, you would please make donations to a cause dear to us that provides much needed financial relief to family members of critically ill patients. Please donate at keepswimmingfoundation.org/tony

I was so sorry to hear of Tonys passing the way that I did. I did business over the years with Tony and Steve at CJC when ever I needed parts for any of my cars. Might be a part for a 1969 Nova or a 2009 Hyundai they always came through for me. Tony knew that I worked for Mercedes and called me when ever he needed help with one. I felt honored when ever a guy like him who I considered as a guru of car parts would call me for help. I called yesterday for some advice on a machine shop and Greg from Melrose Park answered and said Lombard was closed. I asked about Tony and Steve and he said that Tony had passed away. I was very sad to hear that news. This world has lost a good man and just hope as always that he is in a better place. I will miss you Tony. Love Jer

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work next to Tony. But mostly, I am honored to have had the opportunity to know him as person. He will be missed by those that truly knew him for his sense of humor, his work ethic, and his passion for all things De Tomaso, Jaguar, and Triumph. To those closest to Tony I offer my deepest condolences for the loss of your beloved one. My hope is that with each passing day your grieving will be lessened and replaced with joy and nothing but loving memories that you shared with Tony.

Speechless. My thoughts and prayers go out to Lily and the Del Boccio Family. I worked with Tony at the Bensenville store. Working with Tony gave me many great experiences and great memories that I will never forget. He took me under his wing and always made sure I was ok both at work and away from work. We both shared the passion for motorcycles and he helped me with modifications I made with mine. Tony was a great man with even a greater heart. Thanks for all the great memories. You will be missed and never forgotten. Rest Peacefully.

I'm so sorry for you loss. Tony was truly a good friend of our family. My husband Dan Lawyer (Danny's Auto Service) introduced me to Tony many years ago. He was such a sweet, kind, caring, and thoughtful man. He would call me every year and wish me a happy birthday. That I will miss.... God bless you and your family.

I met Tony about 30 years ago through my auto repair business, and we became very good friends over the years. Although I did not get to talk or meet with you Lily very much over the years or you Bridgette/Nicole, I did meet with him in the mornings 4-6 times a week at Gottlieb Health Center for about 8-10 years for racquetball & weight lifting (which we both loved) & heard a lot about your lives. Remember girls, the water ski trip to Michigan with Bobby & Tony? Well that was me!!! I am deeply saddened for your/our loss..... I will miss him also.!!

Our hearts and prayers go out to Lilly, Geri, Fran, and the rest of the DelBoccio family for Tony's passing. My cousin was a very honest and good man, and will be missed by the many who knew him. He truly was an asset to CJC for the many years he was working there with his knowledge of auto parts industry. Hoping we will be together again with Tony, Uncle Tony, Aunt Jenny in a better place.

I met Tony only a couple of years ago but I instantly liked his honesty & straight forwardness. I was his Realtor and sold his Bartlett townhome. His sister Geri is my good friend & Stager, and it was so fun to see them together. When we started working on his townhome I think he was amazed at how talented Geri was and what she can do to help a home sell. He was a joy to work with, please accept my deepest condolences he was such a nice man. Chris Kohlhagen

Tony taught me everything I know about the parts side of things. He picked me up at the melrose park store when I was 12 on his way to work at priced rite auto parts. He had a lot of patience with me while still holding me accountable. When we were together in an automotive setting we felt invincible. I will miss him very much.
