Aurora Roque was born in MasantolPampanga, Philippines on May 21, 1951. She entered Heaven’s gates on May 18, 2019.

Aurora spent the first thirty-six years of her life in the Philippines. She graduated High School in Masantol, Pampanga and earned her college degree in Manila, Philippines. Shortly after, she tied the knot with her first and only husband Roy Roque. Their love for one another blossomed and they were blessed with two beautiful children.

On April 1988, Aurora and her family immigrated to the United States through her sister Norma’s sponsorship. She started working at Boise Cascade, (now OfficeMax) from 1988 and retired at age sixty-two, in 2013.

A year later, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She received treatments and lived a happy and healthy life for the next four and a half years. On December 2018, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Aurora fought a tough five-month battle and finally succumbed.

Aurora was a loving mother and wife. She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. For many years leading up to her passing, she collected a large library of best Filipino recipes. She loved to watch cooking channels and Filipino shows during her spare time. Her friends loved her vibrant personality. Aurora just knew how to light up a room. She was also a very generous person; she thought of others first before herself.

Aurora is survived by her husband Roy Roque, her daughter Rosanne Roque, and her son Ralph Roque. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Ranier, Mekailo, Makaili, Raelene, and Erianne.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days. For those who have known Aurora throughout her fruitful journey with us, her visitation service will be held at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapel in Roselle, IL from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Walter Church in Roselle, IL at exactly 12:00 pm.
