Carmelo B. Guy

Carmelo (Bing) Guy died suddenly January 14, 2021 due to Covid -19 complications, at St. Alexius Hospital. He was born July 18, 1940, in San Juan, Abra. The son of Bonifacio and Carmen Guy.
Carmelo was the youngest children of his three siblings. His education was from the National University of the Philippines with a degree in Civil Engineering. In 1965, he married the love of his life, Aurea Barbero and settled at San Juan, Abra and had 3 children. He was a little bit of a rolling stone and had another child whom he also loved. He was a hardworking man and would do anything to provide for his family. He wanted a better life for their family and when they saw a chance to immigrate to the United States, they did. He and his wife sacrificed a decade of separation from their children and gave up their hopes and dreams so that someday their children can have the opportunity to make their own hopes and dreams come true.
Carmelo loved the outdoors, and loved fishing and planting. He loved to travel and he’s been around the world. He loves to cook and makes the best adobo and fried chicken.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Isidro Guy, with a surviving sister Aida Guy. Surviving in addition to his wife Aurea B. Guy, his son Carlo Guy and his wife Jackie of Skokie, IL; daughter Carmen Agno and her husband Noel of Streamwood, IL; Bennie Guy and his wife Maria of Hoffman Estates, IL; and Jomel and his wife Angely of the Philippines. He has nine grandchildren, Colin, Camila, Nathan, Cameron, Noah, Xander, Cole, Caleb, and Cramer.
“Life is a song – sing it. Life is a game – play it. Life is a challenge – meet it. Life is a dream – realize it. Life is a sacrifice – offer it. Life is love – enjoy it.

Tita Aura, Carmen, Benny and Bong…Words don’t suffice to express the heartfelt sorrow my family and I feel for the passing of Tito Bing. We know that his passing is so hard to bear right now, but please remember that death is only the end of the physical life and the beginning of the beautiful eternal life with our loving and gracious Lord. Tito Bing was a wonderful man and was cherished by everyone who knew him. Like Noel and Tina you are all very lucky and blessed to have had him as a husband, father and grandfather. What I will remember most about Tito Bing is he was the strong, quiet type and like Tita Judy ALWAYS had a smile on his face. May God embrace you in His loving arms to comfort all of you and your family. Please know we love you and will keep you all in our prayers. Ray Gonzalez and family.
