Oh, Carol. It does seem as though only the good die young. You may have been in your '70's, but you still had so much more to give, and so many more lives to impact. It, of course, is devastating to your family, but it is also a sad, sad day for those of us who were pleased and privileged to be your friend. Without you, the world won't be as kind, or as loving, or as interesting to talk to. You are leaving a wide chasm in the lives of your family, and all the people who ever crossed paths with you. But, because you were so impactful, in every positive way, to so many people, we can all take a cue from you, and be kind to others, on a daily basis, and make the world better one kindness at a time. Because you said, every day, that being kind is a reward in itself, and we will be happier if we behave that way. And you were right. I hope I learned enough from you, and I hope I am strong enough to live up to your example. May God take you to his right hand, where you may live for eternity in comfort and pain-free.

My darling Carol is already so missed! She is a cousin who once found, gave me more family than I had imagined. She cared for everyone and showed her love in so many ways. She welcomed me into the family and opened doors for me. I am blessed to have known and been loved by her. I will love her forever! She will not be forgotten. She is in my heart, as she is in the heart of everyone who got to know her. She will be with us forever. In my mind's eye, I will never forget her happiness and joy as she walked along Main Street in Hospital. She was HOME! Carol, while you are there looking down upon us, and watching over all of us, enjoy meeting up with all the family we have lost, many long before we were born! When you step up to the bar in heaven, order one from me!!!! Love you, always will!!

To my beautiful mother, the most generous, loving, amazing woman I have ever known. Mum, you gave me the greatest gifts of faith in our Saviour and love for each other. Your daily message to "be kind" was inspiring to me; no matter what I was going through or how I felt about things, yours was a daily reminder to be as strong a woman as you were. Your abiding love for your family shone through in everything you said and everything you did. I miss you so much that it hurts, but I am so thankful that you are dancing on streets of gold with our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus, with your precious father, mother, brothers and sisters. You always taught us to have faith and to never let go of God no matter what. I promise you that I will never forget that. It has been an honor and privilege to be your daughter, and I am so grateful that God gave you to be my mother. Your last words to me were, "I'm going to be fine. I love you." I will carry those words and your beautiful smile with me all my days. To say "thank you" will never be enough for everything you did for me and for all the love you poured out on me. But I thank you all the same. And so, just as I used to say to you every morning, I love you Mum! Have a beautiful day.

A truly lovely lady who we are sure is bringing a smile to all around her in heaven. Delighted to have had the opportunity to spend time with Carol when she came back to her ancestral home in Ireland. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam.
