Donald LaRocco

Visitation Time: All Services were private.
Interment:

Donald “Don” J. LaRocco, 72, went home peacefully to the Lord on Christmas Day, 2020 with his wife of 35 years, Denise at his side. It seems fitting that he met Jesus in Heaven that day because he asked the Lord into his life on Christmas Day, 1988.

Don loved God, his wife, his family and a multitude of friends.

Don was known for having “that smile” that could light up a room. He had a great sense of humor and to know him was to love him. Don was dependable and his family & friends always knew that they could count on him for help and support.

Don was passionate about ministry and was an active board member of the missionary organization Cities For Christ. He mentored many of the young missionaries in CFC and made a lasting impression on them. And because Don & Denise were the elders of the group, they became affectionately known as “Papa Don” & “Momma Denise.” And he certainly took on the father role for many of the young missionaries.

Don was a person of great generosity with his money, his talents and more importantly with his time. He spent countless hours being a support for the ministry doing tasks from A to Z. He was also known to give missionaries & those doing God’s work a little “gas money” every time he saw them.

Don loved to study The Word of God. He felt a closeness to God as he got to know Him better through his time spent in the bible. They were also active in their home church, Life Church St. Charles.

Don and Denise realized a dream when they visited Israel in the fall of 2018. It was life changing for both of them.

We all feel the stinging loss at not having him here on earth, but we are rejoicing that he is with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.

Don was the beloved husband of Denise LaRocco; devoted father of Michael LaRocco; loving son of Jack and the late Rose LaRocco; dear brother of Eddie (Nina), Diane, Angela (Frank) Iovinell, the late Christine (Larry) Freeman, Peter, Cary (Gina), the late Lorene, Andrew and Mary Ann and a dear uncle & great uncle of many.

Interment was at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Cities for Christ appreciated.
