I just learned of the loss of Eddie. I knew him and brothers Lennie and Bobby and their dearest dad Mickey (Myron) from Mitty's. Wonderful fond memories of times together, with so many laughs. It's been over 35 years since those days, but the memories of Eddie, Lennie, Bobby and dear Mickey will forever remain dear to my heart. To his daughters, siblings and entire family and dear companion my heartfelt deepest sympathy for his loss. He had an amazing smile. He was surely the type of person people wanted to be around. May you find peace and comfort knowing he is surely in heaven and smiling down on you.

I was a regular at Mitty’s and spent a lot of time with Mickey and Eddie. They were very kind and so much fun to be with. I loved going to Cub games and to Fox Lake with them. Some of the best times in my life they were part of and greatly missed. Hope the family can get through this difficult time!! Take care and God bless.

Uncle Ed's infectious fighting spirit and his quick wit in crafting a conversation that captivated a room are qualities we noticed from the time we were children in the 1970s. His laughter is forever remembered as a magnetic force that steals your attention. He renamed my brother Fast Eddie for reasons unknown. We have oddly embraced this for over 50 years. Our uncle’s innate ability to manifest a party wherever he went is a quality that infuses our hearts. For us, all of these things are gifts from Uncle Ed we get to sprinkle into the world. – Dawn & Fast Eddie

So very sorry to hear about Eddie's passing. Such a wonderful guy. Still remember fondly the days when my special needs daughter, who just loved Eddie, would "escape" from our house with swim suit on and towel in hand and go around the corner to Eddie's house and announce she was there to swim in the pool. We would start looking for her yelling at siblings about who was watching her and then the phone would ring and it would be the Schaeffers. "If you are looking for Allison she is in the pool so dont worry and she has already asked what's for dinner. We will bring her home after she dries off and fills up on whatever we are having" He always took care of his little Allison and she loved him to the moon. "Eddie Eddie Eddie" she would say every time she saw him. Rest in peace pal. You will be horribly missed. The Peterson's
