Esther “Anastasia” Pishos, 98, (nee Shutkas); Born in Slimnitsa, Kastoria, Greece; Beloved wife of the late John; Devoted mother of Maria (William) Pappas, Angelo (Melanie) and the late Steve; Cherished grandmother of George (Lynda), Joanne (Alex) Siapkaris and Great grandmother of Rebecca, William, Constantine and Matthew; Loving sister of the late Nicholas, Evdoxia, Michael, William and George; Dearest Aunt, cousin, relative and friend of many. Esther was a life-time member of the Brotherhood of Grammos. Visitation, Saturday February 2, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral service 12 noon at Holy Trinity Hellenic Orthodox Church 6041 W. Diversey Ave. Chicago, IL. Stories abound about Yia-Yia, but one thing you knew for sure is that she had an incredible persona. Didn't know her that well but, did understand that she was a person of incredible fortitude and strength. My deepest sympathies to all of her family and friends. Rest in Peace Esther. I was so happy to reconnect with your grandmother after so many years. I have memories of when she came to Chicago as a young woman. Please accept my deepest condolences
