In 1975, at the age of 20 years old, a speeding car slammed into me and destroyed the tibia and fibula bones in my left leg. Dr. Tsatsos sculpted the pieces of bone back together using a plate to hold it together. He told me to begin walking therapy immediately, and I was able to walk again and have a relatively normal life. Forty six years later I say, once again, with great admiration.. Thank you, Dr. Tsatsos.

Tsatsos Cousins: So sorry for your loss of your father, George. He truly was a great man. I have so many joyous memories driving to Chicago visiting you all. I can still hear my dad (Tom) call him "The Professor." I pray he is in heaven with his family. Chris Schumacher (Tsatsos)

Dearest Tsatsos Family, Zoe se Sas! (May life be with you!) I knew your father/grandfather as a friend, as a colleague, as a mentor, and as a fellow Greek-American. A gifted surgeon, he never was without a kind word for someone else whether he was a fellow orthopedic surgeon or the janitor. I know that he valued very much his friendship with my late father (Dr John Panton). I am aware that he had been in declining health recently, but was unaware of his passing until I received the notice today from the Gottlieb Medical Staff Office. As a doctor, he was blessed to cure thousands of patients from various orthopedic maladies. I can comment on that professionally since my early years in practice overlapped with his latter years. His patients adored him as both a doctor and a friend. George taught the younger doctors at Westlake, Gottlieb and Oak Park Hospital to love their patients, but ultimately to love their families even more. I can not tell you how often that colleagues wold ask me about their old friend -- George Tsatsos. I saw him regularly at church, at the hospital social events, and at the occasional Greek social/cultural event. I loved to report back that George was doing great in retirement! My father passed in December, 2015. As it took time for me to grieve, it will also take time for you to deal with this profound loss. That's our fate living as the descendants of pillars of the community. What will surprise you is the profound impact that your father/grandfather had on the lives of so many people. Those people will share their stories and you will realize how great of man--and doctor-- he really was. May His Memory be Eternal. May His Memory be Eternal. May His Memory be Eternal.

Hello all Tsatsos', My deepest, heartfelt condolences to all of you. Dr. Tsatsos was an amazing person. I have many memories of him, including him helping with my injured knee following a skiing incident. I remember him driving many of us to Oak Park Hospital so we could use the pool. I also remember his deep and kind voice. When he spoke to me I always listened. He will be missed by many, many people. I am so thankful to have grown up across the street from all of you. I still remember your home phone number. Many, many, many, many awesome memories of all of you! Eustacia (Stacy), my thoughts are especially with you. Miss you very much! Love to you and everyone. Thinking of you all duringvthis tough time. I’ve heard so many stories of your dad’s humor and kindness. And I think Steven inherited his adoration for Abraham Lincoln.
