Helen Klinger

Helen Rose Klinger, 95, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. She was born to Joseph and Katherine (nee Grendys) Milnik on October 31, 1925. Helen was the oldest sister of Josephine, Leonard, and the late Rose and Irene.

Helen was born and raised in Chicago. She met the love of her life, Erwin Klinger, growing up in their shared neighborhood. They were married for over 50 years.

Together, they purchased their first house in Northlake, Illinois where they raised their family. They later retired in Elk Grove Village to be close to their children and grandchildren.

Helen had a kind heart and a feisty personality. Her strength came from her love for her family. She always supported and protected them however she could, as they were the most precious thing in the world to her.

Helen was a hard worker. She worked many years before retiring. However, retirement did not last long because she then left retirement to work at Walmart for an additional 22 years. Her independence and perseverance kept her energized and well-spirited into her 90s.

Helen loved gardening and yard work. She was very proud of her rose bushes and tomato plants. She also enjoyed cooking traditional Polish dishes, cookies, and banana bread. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family, especially if there were children around.

She is already greatly missed by her 4 children: JoAnn(Jerry), Wayne (Cathy), Kathlene (Jerry), and Arlene (Don); her 11 grandchildren: Jeff, Jim, Joe (Amanda), Kristen (Dave), Katie (Brandon), Jamie, Amanda (Constantin), Sierra, Kyler, Heather, and Donnie; and her 2 great grandchildren: Peyton and CJ (Constantin), as well as many extended family members. She will be remembered for her love, support, advocation for her family.
