Jacob Zachary Popp, 22, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, August 26 2022.

Jacob was born on January 9th, 2000 to Kelly Jo Popp and Steven Michael Popp. After Jacob graduated from Conant High School in 2018, he enjoyed working in the construction field including masonry, carpentry, plumbing, and more.

Jake was one of a kind, Those lucky enough to have known him will always remember the divine human being he was and the infinite mark that he’s left—the light that he brought to all: the laughter, acts of kindness, and joy. No words could fully describe him, but many would share how loving, ambitious, uplifting, beautiful, kind, silly, outgoing, genuine, handsome, romantic, “swaggy”, helpful, and charismatic he was. His hugs, kisses, giggles, and kind words will never be forgotten.

Jake had just started his new job and was looking forward to his future.

Jacob was survived by his parents, Kelly Jo Popp and Steven Michael Popp, grandmother Diane “Gaga”, aunts and uncles Mike and Julie, Jeff and Becki, cousins James, William, and Ben, sisters Taylor and Lindsay, brother-in-law Shawn. nephew Grayson, beloved girlfriend Bailey Bloom. Jake was a friend and brother to all. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Marshall and Rochelle Popp.

Visitation and services will be held at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapel on September 1st, 2022 from 4pm-9pm, with services at 8pm.

Jake was always in Lifetime Fitness gym working on his game all the time from middle school through most of high school. He loved playing ball and would always ask for tips on his game. He was a joyous kid and his Dad would always watch him play. He was always full of laughter and was the best in the gym who could beat anyone (ha)! I'll miss my little buddy and prayers to him and his entire family.

My words cannot describe the sorrow and devastation I have felt since I learned of Jacob’s passing. While I didn’t know him, I know his mom, her giving, kind, fun, loving, creative, joyful, family-centered spirit. I know, Jake, and Kelly’s entire family, was at the core of her existence. I hope Kelly and all Jake’s family will be able to find solace in knowing he will always be with them. My deepest sympathy to Kelly, her daughters, her mom, Jake’s father and their extended family and friends.
