Janet Ann Loesch

Janet Ann Loesch, 67, died peacefully on October 20, 2021 at Generations at Oakton Pavillion in DesPlaines, IL. She was born on September 30, 1954 in Valparaiso, IN to the late Robert W. and Clara “Jo” H. (Johannes) Loesch. She was baptized on October 24, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Valparaiso, IN.
She graduated from Northwestern High School in Kokomo, IN in 1972. She attended Valparaiso University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Home Economics in 1976. She started her retail career at JCPenney where she worked for 25 years in the northeastern IL region. She subsequently was an assistant store manager for HomeGoods for 3 years and then store manager for the Concordia University Chicago bookstore until her retirement in 2012.
Her spouse was Jody L. Lucey, and they were together for 32 years, marrying on October 21, 2016.
Jan was a longtime member of First St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Chicago, IL. She sang in the church choir for 36 years and toured several times with the choir in Europe. One of her great pleasures in life was talking to family, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances, taking a personal interest in their lives and making a point to send out cards to mark birthdays and important events. She was a great listener and a friend to many.
She is survived by her spouse Jody L. Lucey of Oak Park, IL, brothers Robert L. (Tammie) Loesch of Alabaster, AL and William J. (Eileen) Loesch of Pennington, NJ, nephew Robert W. (Lindsey) Loesch II of Chicago, IL, nieces Julia A. Loesch of New York, NY, Mary “Maggie” E. Loesch of Pennington, NJ and Laura R. Axelrod of New York, NY, sister-in-law Debra C. (Stuart) Axelrod of Windham, ME, and brother-in-law’s David T. (the late Vicki) Lucey of Apache Junction, AZ and Timothy C. Lucey of Elgin, IL as well as other family and friends.
Visitation and funeral service will be at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 1301 N. Lasalle Drive, Chicago, IL 60610 on Saturday, October 23, 2021, with visitation at 9:30 am followed by service at 10:30 am. Graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm at Concordia Cemetery at 7900 Madison Street, Forest Park, IL 60305. If you wish to give a memorial, the family requests that memorials be given to First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Chicago IL, 60610.
