Wow dad...as I sit here on Thanksgiving 2019...kids are still sleeping...I feel a bit out of body. As a man of 54 I feel like your young son...looking for the direction...what to do...what to say. I knew this day would come as it will for all of us but that does not make it easy. I think..what would dad do...as I know we have been through things like this before. One of your many wise quotes comes immediately to mind...don't worry about the things you cannot control. I find myself trying to control my emotions...nope not working. I think I will let it flow over me. I also think about the type of man you were. You had the biggest heart..without ever saying words like "I love you" or "I am here for you". When people need help...you were always there..no questions or strings attached...just there to help in any way you can. You are the humblest person I have ever met and I try hard every day to appreciate life...whatever it brings. Now that you are in heaven and with all of our family I take great comfort in knowing you will be watching over us all. I have a lot more to do in life and you will continue to be my strength and my guide. I love you with all that I am and I thank you for guiding me...no son could ever ask for more.
