John “Jack” Albert Dippel, age 76, died of natural causes at his home in Carol Stream, IL, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.
Born to John A. Jr. and Lorraine (Arnold) Dippel January 12, 1942, in St. Paul, MN, he was a long time resident of Iron River, WI before settling in Illinois. Jack was a veteran of the United States Army and later became a detective with the Metra Police Department, Chicago, IL until his retirement in 2005. Jack was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a longtime supporter of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.Jack is survived by his sister Joann Forsythe, of Iron River, WI, his sons John and Joseph, his daughter Angela, granddaughter Alicia and grandson Jackson. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Alice. A memorial will be held between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, at the Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake Street Roselle, IL 60172. Burial will be held in private. A second gathering will be held between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., Friday, March 9, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10197, P O Box 478 8265 U. S. Hwy 2, Iron River WI.
Memorial contributions should be mailed to P.O. Box 11031, Burke, VA 22009.

Although I never meet Mr. Dipple I’ve heard many stories about him from his son John. I say to God you’ve gained a great man and my condolences to the Dipple family may he Rest In Peace.

Thank you pops for all your service to your country and those who surrounded you. Your sense of humor always kept me thinking. Tonite...I shall have a toast in your name. May He watch over you and comfort your family, friends, and the lives you touched. Tam, Anthony and I will miss you pops.
