John H. Sandors passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, January 12, 2018, at the age of 78. John is predeceased by his loving parents Haralambos (Harry) and Magdalene Sandors née Bouris. John was a loving cousin to Pauline Delikanakis née Pouris ( Phaedon Delikanakis), Helen Greco née Sandors (Joseph Greco), Tom Sandors, Gus Sandors, Nick Boznos, and Peter Boznos. John was a dear uncle to John Delikanakis (German Delgado), Lilly Mercado née Delikanakis (Marc Mercado), Renee Aivaliklis née Delikanakis (Alex Aivaliklis), Frank Greco (Marsha Greco), Katherine Webb née Greco, Lynette Sandors, and many other nieces and nephews. He was a loving Godfather to Daniel Mercado. John also leaves behind many loving friends and neighbors. John was an active member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church and directed the altar boys program for decades. He was a member of AHEPA, a Chicago Public School Teacher and a Plato School Teacher for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Goodman Theater, the Chicago Historical Society, and many other cultural organizations. John loved life, good food, and good people. He will be sorely missed. Visitation, Thursday, January 18, 2018, 3 – 9 p.m., at Salerno’s Galewood Chapels 1857 N. Harlem Ave. Chicago. Family and friends will meet Friday morning at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church 601 S.
