My sincerest condolences to the Gapastione family. Joe and I were childhood friends in Hillside until my family moved in 1967. He was one of my first friends growing up, a loyal and fun-loving friend. He came from a very close family, and he will be truly missed by them and all his friends. Rest In Peace.

Good people our age should not leave us this early. He was good even back in High School! Joe was our class president at PW. So many great memories from that time. Float meetings at his house was such a fun time, his mom welcomed us with open arms. Great memories are priceless! Your family is strong. I am so sorry for your loss.

Barbara and Family My deepest Sympathy on the Passing of “Joeyg” The Man. He’s in a place of Serenity and No More Pain. He was One of a Kind. He will be Missed by Many Family and Customers. Rest In Peace Joeyg. God Bless the Gapastione Families. His craziness at work and home made him very SPECIAL. A trait hard to follow. Amen

Sorry for your loss Gianna and whole Joey G family and friends ! Prayers and hugs during this very difficult time. this news really hurt . Joey was a great mam, always smiling and saying hi to everyone. my father lived in schiller park and has been going to Al and Joe;s since 1964 when he was in high school,/East Leyden carrying on this tradition that every time we would visit my grandparents we would grab Al & Joe's for lunch., and continues til today and beyond even grandparents are gone we still make the trip all the way from the burbs to get the subs or any other goodie they have. My dad still drives out there for a sub too. Ii left Illinois 31 years ago and I come home once sometimes twice a year and I still drive all the way from bubs (about 25 - 30 min) to get a sub or any other goodie. Thank you for everything Joe , I know you family will do you justice with the deli. May you RIP Joey G ! You will be missed. Look forward to my next visit when I come back home later this year. Wish I could have attended this service.
