Joyce Meredith (Olson) Hadley, age 96, died on 10 February 2016 at her home in Friendship Village Schaumburg, Illinois attended by her daughter Linda. Joyce was one five daughters born to Victor Arnold and Clara (Kolbak) Olson of Duluth, Minnesota. Joyce was the Beloved wife of the late Leslie Earl Hadley; Devoted mother of Judith Ann VanHorn, Kay Lynn (Randy) Heim, and Linda Sue Hadley. Loving grandmother to Laura Lee (Leon) Pittman, Carol Jean (Curt) Kinman, Laurie, Kimmy, and Jimmy; great grandmother of Nicole, Randy, Marisol, Carlos, Isabella, Deanna, and Mark; great greatgrandmother of Mahlia; Dear sister of the late Leone, Dorothy, Irene and Valentine; Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.Joyce is also survived by her grand-dog Rosco. Joyce worked as a secretary with Motorola, Concordia Teacher’s College, and finally with School District 89 Board of Education beginning  July 1, 1962. She served as the Executive Secretary for Business Accounts Payable. She was the social welcoming chairman for all new district employees and was an integral part of fundraising efforts with the National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP). She retired on June 30, 1986. Joyce was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church; she enjoyed Christ Care group, lecturing and greeting. She also enjoyed working out at her local health club, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Joyce was the author of the book Dorothy Arnold, the First Mrs. Joe DiMaggio which she wrote about her sister Dorothy. Visitation for Joyce will be held on Friday, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels 450 W. Lake St. Roselle, IL. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Rd. For info 630-889-1700. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at Trinity Lutheran Church 405 S. Rush St. Roselle, IL. Family and friends are asked to gather at the church at 11:00 a.m. Interment Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established with Trinity Lutheran Church in Roselle, Illinois.
