Aunt Maria was one of the most loving, funny, and kind Aunts' that one can hope to have in their family. Definitely, our favorite and will be missed by all who enjoyed her honesty and sense of humor. We love you aunt Marie! Tom and Tina

Well said Karen, words escape me also when it comes to describing what this beautiful lady, inside and out, meant to me. First and foremost, she was my Godmother, my Nanny. She took those responsibilities seriously. She definitely stepped in when needed, especially after my mother, Cecilia Metoyer Sullivan, passed. She had this saying when things happened beyond our control, "We are going to miss her, but what can we do" is what she said when mother passed. John said these exact same words last Thursday morning when he called to tell me our loved one had passed on. "But what can we do!" She lives on in you John, the greatest husband ever, and I love you for that. Thank you Theresa, Johnny, and John for sharing her with me and becoming my extended family, love you all. I will miss our phone calls and visits, but I know she's now my angel and will forever be by my side. She and all her siblings were like my Mother's brothers and sisters, I know all who have passed are all together now and happy. Rest in Peace my beautiful Nanny, love you!

I don't really know what to say because in truth no words that I could speak could ever describe what Auntie meant to me. She was an amazing woman. Strong and loving all the time. She was small in stature but if you made her mad she could be Scrappy. I don't think in my whole life I ever heard her mention anything that she was afraid of. No circumstance that she ever found herself in made her weak it only made her stronger. She got that strength from her mother and father. She loved them very much and I know she's with them now. Auntie you were the tip of the spear. The arrow that shot straight each and every day. The line we knew not to cross but to respect. You made us better men and women. You love us, you loved our children and you loved our grandchildren. You're the rock that this family stands on. Your strength is how we survived. Even though you may be gone from this Earth we know you'll never abandon us and when we speak you will listen and guide us and love us from heaven. Thank you for the time you gave us. When my time comes I know you'll be there to greet me along with my mom and my dad and all the other people that I love and that love me. Until then know that I will tell your story and pass on the wisdom you shared with me.

Marie was known to us as Nanny 'Toka". She was married to our uncle/cousin Milford LaCour known to us as Parrain Milford. After their divorce we remained in contact with Nanny because of the love we had for her and she for us. Her memory will last for me forever. She was one classy lady with a spitfire tongue. Rest on in Paradise Nanny Toka.

My awesome auntie for words. She always has her sayings only people she loves would understand. Foe the rest of our lives we will carry on her quotes. She will live on in her children, nieces, nephews cousins, grandchildren ,acquaintances and loved friends. I must say we are women of the Couty Clan Who carry on a piece of each of our mothers and uncles. I can not be there to support my cousins Her loving daughter Theresa, Her baby Johnny Or her loving husband whom she loved deeply and kindly cursed daily. Every word was made of love he lives to hear and get his day going. He would say Bae can I help , she would answer. Did I ask you for your help !!! This is one void that no one will fill in our lives. I love you and I promise to carry on some of your cussing quotes.R.I.P. If you come across Momma please hug her for me !!
