Marlene Hanks, nee Olsen, entered Heaven on June 18th, 2021. Loving wife of the late James Hanks, loving mother of Cindy Hanks Gubricky, Patty (Larry) Spence, Kim (Bob) Murray, Laurie (Bill) Novak. Marlene was a fun loving grandmother to Chris (Beth) , Nick, Danielle, Samantha (Patrick), James, Riley, Natalie, Nicole, Joey, Tommy, Skylar and Shea. Super spoiler to great grandchildren Teagan, Asher, Jordan and Rae. Dear sister to Gary(Terri)Olsen the late Carol Sanzeri and crazy aunt to many. Loving companion to Bob Crimmins.

Always the life of the party, Marlene loved to travel, entertain, decorate, shop and spoil her children. Generous to a fault, she donated to many charities and volunteered often.

She was confident that she had a beautiful home waiting for her in heaven, and was looking forward to meeting Jesus, seeing Lulu and Audrey. We are sure they are having a joyful and boisterous reunion in Heaven.

My deepest sympathy for your loss. I have great memories as a child being at uncle Ollie’s and attending her wedding and even memories of babysitting Cindy and Patty when they were babies; I was barely 13 I think. Our recent talks of our love for the Lord were such an encouragement to me. I look forward to seeing her in heaven. Love, cousin Val

Thank you for being you and for giving all of your friends the ride of their lives just by knowing you. It's ironic that we were to meet in Kankakee this Friday to celebrate your birthday. I shall be on hand this Saturday to say goodbye, my dear friend. Gail

I will miss Sue always whispering something funny in my ear whenever I saw her! Say hi to our LuLu, Richie and Jimmy! To the Hanks girls and family, just know that you are not alone in your grief. She was such a special person. Love you all.

My sincere condolences to all her family and friends. We met at Roman and an instant friendship was formed. Her love of life and laughter shone through her beautiful eyes She taught me much, made me laugh and was a true inspiration so I know that she is in heaven with Jim and countless others that she touched in her lifetime. God Bless you Marlene, may you rest in Paradise.

I did not know you as well as the other girls but the times we all spent together was a wonderful memory. Remembering the times we got together for lunches and the best memory for me was the little cruise we did on lake Michigan. We had so much fun. Your sense of humor was just great, and the life of the party. You will truly be missed.
