Everyone at UCP Seguin of Greater Chicago mourns the passing of a great human being - Mary "Pat" Storto. Pat had been a stalwart supporter of Seguin Services and then UCP Seguin for decades. The motivation for her support was her late daughter Tricia, who had developmental disabilities and was served by our organization for much of her life. Pat had served on our Board for multiple years, as a Board officer, chair of the Program Committee, and much more. She was an incredibly strong advocate for community inclusive services, and was never bashful about pushing for legislation at state and federal levels to give people with IDD what they deserve...and that includes the staff who serve them! For her major investment of time, talent and treasure to the organization, we honored her with the naming of one of our CILA group homes - The Storto House, at 3700 S. Home Avenue in Berwyn. Her family was also especially helpful - her late husband Joe, and her children, especially Rick, who served as DJ at many of our Stay Up Late parties for participants. Pat was truly one of a kind. She will be very sorely missed. There's much more to say about Pat...for now, we have been honored and blessed to have been such an important part of her life, a life to be celebrated among those in the pantheon of UCP Seguin champions. On behalf of the UCP Seguin Board, staff, people with developmental disabilities, and their families, Deepest condolences to the Family of Mary Patricia "Pat" Storto, Jim Haptonstahl
