Mary-Jo Pisciotta (nee Muniér), 68, Geneva, IL, passed away November 29, 2020 with her daughter by her side. Mary-Jo was born March 12, 1952 in Nice, France to her late mother, Christiane Muniér and her late father, Kleber Muniér. She had 12 brothers and sisters.

Mary-Jo is preceded in death by her late daughter Danielle Pisciotta. She is survived by her daughter Laurie and her five grandchildren: Mikayla, Alana, Olivia, Dylan and Jaxon.

Mary-Jo was truly an angel on Earth. If anyone was lucky enough to spend time with her, they know she always gave them 100% attention and made them feel so good about themselves. She never complained about anything and took on life’s challenges with a smile.

Mary-Jo always said, “you get back what you put in” which is why she always made anyone she met feel warm and welcomed. She would always stop to talk to neighbors when she walked the dog and was the first one to greet someone as they came to the door. She never had a negative thought or passed judgement on others. She was just a wonderful person.

She had a special relationship with her grandchildren and became a huge part of their lives. From playing Old Maid 399 times to teaching them how to roller blade to refilling their waters whenever they raced to finish their cups. She was always willing to bake something with the kids – she was so patient. Mary-Jo was a kid at heart and it was wonderful to watch her re-live her childhood all over again.

When it was time to be an adult, Mary-Jo would grab a glass of her favorite wine and laugh and smile the night away. She was a beautiful dancer and never too shy to hit the dance floor. She was also a wonderful cook. Her favorite dishes to make were crepes suzette, pizzelles, and spaghetti and meatballs which were smothered in her own sauce recipe.

Although Mary-Jo left us too soon, we take comfort in knowing we now all have a very special angel watching over us. We will miss you so much, Mom. Give Danielle a hug and kiss from us. We love you.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Rd, Geneva, IL with a burial immediately following at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Palatine.

Truly a beautiful woman not only on the outside, but through & through. A lady of grace, filled with abounding love. Mary Jo will leave a void for all that knew her, but she will bring a smile to all, just by closing our eyes and remembering her sweetness and her baking! Laurie, Tim, & girls, what a wonderful lady! What a wonderful gift you all were to each other. ❤
