Bill and Gaye, I didn't know your Matthew but this struck my heart to imagine your pain. I hope you will find some comfort with your family and in God's promises for a resurrection (Acts 24:15). God has resurrected humans in the past to demonstrate His great ability. The Bible shows that death is an enemy (1Cor 15:26). God has a yearning to conquer that enemy. He longs to bring back those who are in his memory and see them live on Earth again. May this and good memories of Matthew always comfort you. Warm Regards

Heintzelman Family- I had the pleasure of having Blake on my Wheaton Briarcliffe Baseball team in Fall 2017 and I was always impressed with how much Matthew worked with Blake to bring out his best, arriving before games and staying after with him to get in some extra reps. I didn't know Matthew too well or for long but the impression he made on me for how much he cared for his children and his family was immeasurable. I am so very sorry for your loss of Matthew. I know he will be missed and extend my deepest condolences to all his family and friends who loved him so dearly. Peace, Dan Spiegel

Bill and Gaye, Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of your son. Parents are not supposed to bury their children. It has happened in our family and it changes you forever. We are praying that God will hold you in His arms and bring you, eventually, some comfort and peace!! Blessings to you and your family!

The loss of Matt hit me hard along with the rest of Matt’s college buddies who have been in contact since hearing of his passing. We knew Matt as an honest fun loving person and a hard working individual. Above all, though, he was a good friend. To the Heintzelman family, please accept my condolences. Matt will not be forgotten. Today, I will go on a run and remember all of the times Matt and I ran together, all of the Track Meets in which we competed side by side and all of the fun we had in between. Love you Matt.

I’m just stunned beyond belief. I remember Matt from Little League, and I worked with his brother at Indian Lakes. What a tragedy, I just don’t even know what to say.

I remember when you were born. Your mom had to have a c-section with you. I remember when you used to call your mom honey Gaye. I remember when we were playing chutes and ladders and I caught you cheating and you cried. I remember taking you to hockey practice at Woodfield and then to McDonalds. I remember watching you play baseball through the years and then you went away to college and graduated and got married and became a husband. I was there for that. And then you became a wonderful father to your 3 children. There is nothing I can say to ease the pain, but I can say this. I will always remember you. Love, Uncle Randy.

For all family and friends of Matt. While Matt is technically my cousin (I am Tim ridge’s son) I never had the pleasure of getting to know him. Nevertheless I know how loved he was. I am so very sorry and sad for this loss. It is difficult to come up with the words to express my sympathy. I will keep all of you in my prayers. Please look to each other for strength and hope. I am so sorry.

Matthew, We little knew that morning, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone. For part of us went with you, The day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide. And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again. Author: Ron Trammer We love you always and forever, Matthew. God bless you.

My heart aches for all of you. I met Matt when he was a little over a week old. I helped Gaye take Matt in for his first pediatrician visit. Gaye and I were very dumb for being two super star nurses. Even though I moved from Chicagoland forty plus years ago, I was lucky to always keep in touch with Gaye. I saw Matt in person maybe only twice but watched him grow up in photos. You have such a wonderful family. I send all my love and all my prayers. May God comfort you and cover you with his Grace. God's Peace. Mary Winkelmann Ludwig
