I had the pleasure of working with Mike on his very first day as a proud representative of Chicago’s strongest Union and the elite trade show division. I was young and Mike was a mature, worldly, multi-skilled, outgoing, masculine, well tanned, and well spoken gentleman eager to approach his new opportunity to learn how things worked around Rosemont’s newly expanded facility. We continued to be assigned to the same details for it seemed like months even though we only worked a few days a week back then. It was like “ we need two guys and a flat truck so pick out a good one!”. Mike was so verbal about everything, the who, the what, the why, the where, and the when being the basis for whole days worth of conversations. Mike was as they say bright eyed and bushy haired. His carpet stories, his hair dresser adventures, his experiences and his ability to retell them to a youngster who by comparison was just realizing what the world was made of. Thank you Mike. Everyone had the opportunity to have Mike as a friend, he made few fences and opened his arms to embrace the people he met. McCormick Place and the many many characters who visited and existed within it and the job came from every layer of society and we were exposed to it all! It has been my pleasure to have spent years with Mike and can say my day was always better when he was at my side.

Michael was more than an uncle to me. He was like my big brother who I could tell everything. I adored my Uncle Michael and I shall terribly miss him. So much fun and laughter all these years. He was a great, loyal friend and uncle to me. He was the fun uncle for all his nieces and nephews. He was always there when you needed help or just a hand to hold. My mother and he were best of friends as well. So close to each other. I only hope that I can have that relationship with my brothers. He will be missed.....taken too soon....
