Mrs. Michelle Grossart (nee Collins), 74, was called home to our Lord on December 5, 2017 after battling Alzheimer’s. She is survived by her husband Paul, and three children, Cari-Lynn (Brandon), Scott (Andrea) and Brian (Katie). She is also survived by four grandchildren, Cameron, Kayla, Noah and Cooper.
Viewing will be from 3:00 to 9:00 PM at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapel in Roselle, Illinois on December 7th with a service the following morning at Salerno’s at 10:00 AM. Internment will be at Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin ,IL.
Michelle, while born in Chicago, spent her early childhood years growing up in Koontz Lake, IN until her family moved back to the Chicago area. She graduated from Luther South High School and from there, went on to attend Evangelical School of Nursing where she graduated from in 1961. In 1966, she received her BS Degree from University of Illinois. Later in her career, she graduated from Loyola University with a Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing.
Her entire career was devoted to not only working in the nursing profession but to teaching at various Community Colleges throughout the Chicago area. She was always a strong advocate of providing the best care possible to her patients and instilled this philosophy in many of her students.
In her “spare time” Michelle developed many hobbies throughout the years including designing and making her children’s clothing when they were younger, cake decorating, counted cross stitch and needle point, and designing and making beaded jewelry. When told she needed to rest, her response was always; “just give me five more minutes” and is probably in Heaven making that plea to God right now.
Michelle was not only a beautiful woman on the outside; her true beauty lived in her heart. Always there to offer help in any situation, she will be dearly missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
