Nicoletta Theotikos, nee Triantafillou, 93, fell asleep in the Lord surrounded by her loving family. Devoted wife of the late Gregory. Dear Mother of Mark (Paula), Vicki (Ted) Polizos, George (Lena), and Demetri. Daughter of the late George and Maroula Triantafillou. Most proud Yiayia of Nicolette (Jarrett) Zook, Andrea, Nicholas, Kallie, Demetra, Gregory and Nikolas. Beloved sister of the late Marina (Mihalis) Valakas, Marigoula (Nikolas) Printizi and Triantafilos (Nicoletta). Dear aunt, cousin and “second” mother to many. Nicoletta was born in the village of Pyrgos on the island of Tinos, Greece. After marrying her beloved Gregory in 1959, she moved to Chicago, where they built a wonderful life together. Putting family, friends, and the church first. She was a devoted mother — smart and always leading by example. She was a Yiayia who adored her grandchildren having lovingly assisted in their care throughout the years. She was every child’s #1 fan, never missing an opportunity to cheer kids on at Shabbona Park or at church basketball games. She was notorious for taking ALL children under her wing as she had such an uncontainable love for them. Her enthusiasm for all was apparent via the countless meals and sweets she cooked and baked with pure love. All who met her could not help but fall in love with her genuine kindness and flawless character. Finally, she was ever so devoted to her church where she would always be found attending most services. She was an active member of the Holy Trinity Philoptochos for over 50 years. She will be remembered lovingly and missed tremendously by all who were blessed to have been touched by her. Special thanks to her dedicated caregiver, Cookie.
