I enjoyed being on the St. Francis HS track team with you and your brother Tim. It felt great knowing both of you were on my team going into those meets. I can't believe both of you are gone. My favorite memory of both your brother and you came when you guys ran those 4x100 relays even though you were shot put and discus guys. The whole team was waiting for those races and it eased the pressure off of us the rest of the meet. RIP Pat and Tim Buchmiller, I will miss both of you. Peace Jeffrey Skrobutt

While I unfortunately have lost touch with many of my St. Isidore classmates from Class of ‘90, I think of the time we spent as close friends as part of a small group of classmates often. Patrick was a good friend to me during my time there and he had a significantly positive influence in my life. My thoughts and prayers will be with Patrick’s children, family and friends this week. I wish I still lived in Illinois to grieve with our classmates and pay respect to his children and love ones who have come into his life since our time growing up together. Rest In Peace my friend. Our hearts and thoughts and prayers go out to Carolyn, Jake, Andrew and Jan. We all wish we could be there. He and I never agreed on anything, but he’s the only person who I could debate with and not end up getting in a screaming match and felt we both walked away gaining some knowledge, even if neither liked it. I know he loved his family deeply and he will be missed.

Patrick was such a ray of sunshine for our family as a boy. I loved that I waa able to help care for him as an infant and to see him later become a father himself to two amazing boys. It is with a heavy heart I send this message. My love to our family and his friends as we grieve his passing. Auntie Therese, Lori, Lillian

The news of Patrick’s passing comes as such a shock. A sad, unbelievable shock. As with most large families, it’s difficult to keep up with everyone as time moves on. I remember my second cousin as an accomplished, ambitious young man. A young man I liked a great deal. I’m so deeply sorry for his young children, Andrew and Jacob, and for his dear mom Jan and brother Tim. Patrick’s entire family will be in our thoughts and prayers in coming days, and beyond. May he now rest in the arms of angels, reunited with his Savior. Much love, Sheryl Harrison Valentiner and Michael Valentiner

I have fond memories of Patrick as a preschooler riding his Hot Wheels around the circle drive at Sunset Resort in Lodi, Wisconsin, with his cousins. As the oldest grandson, his grandma (my mother) told me that she admired how Patrick’s mom, Jan, would sit on the front stoop of their home for long periods of time to talk. As Patrick grew up, his parents, Jan and Peter, shared how they loved going to their son’s football games. In his young adulthood, Patrick purchased a fixer-upper that Peter helped restore. Peter enjoyed doing that, making many trips to Iowa where the home was located. I saw Patrick shortly after each of his sons were born, and know how proud he was to be their dad. My heart aches for his mom, brother, sons, aunts, uncles, “dozens of cousins,” and friends, and I pray for comfort and peace for all.

We are so very sorry to hear of Patrick's passing. He will be fondly remembered as the first "Buchmiller" nephew. We were all so thrilled with the addition of Patrick to our large family & have so many good memories of him as he matured into a young man. We pray that Patrick has found peace after several difficult years of dealing with his serious health issues. We regret that we will not be able to attend his services but will keep Patrick, Jan, Tim, Andrew & Jake in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Aunt Joanne & Uncle Dick
