Patrick Lubas, of Streamwood, Illinois, peacefully passed in his sleep at his home on December 16th 2020. He was the beloved husband of Vickie Lubas, step-father to Ian and Shaun, fondly named and called Bumpa (Grandpa) by Johnathan, Christopher, Jenna, and twins Daisy and Rosie, loving son of the late Michael and Lorraine Lubas, and the youngest brother of Michael Lubas and Robert Lubas.
Patrick was raised in Fox River Grove. As a little boy on the playground he watched the trucks and motorcycles go by on the road and the planes go overhead. He dreamed that one day he would operate them all. His dreams started to come true, one by one. He bought his first motorcycle not long after getting his driver’s license, flew his first solo in a plane at age 18, and spent his work years starting in some of the big rigs over the road, before settling with a local company driving for road building. And of course, there was never a time that he didn’t ride and own Harleys.
Around 2002, Patrick was blessed when he was able to buy into a private plane in a partnership. He took great pleasure in blessing others by sharing rides in it with anyone who would accept. This was his second love, and Vickie was his first!

Pat, you were one of the few people I know who lived your dreams! You were a kind man, a gentleman who loved life. We will miss you, but you will alway be in our hearts especially when we see a plane soaring high above. A Semi rolling down the road or HARLEY roaring by us with a man grinning ear to ear. Go in peace my friend.

Vickie, From me and the rest of the guys in the Shop at ARROW...Danny, Bob, Jimmy, Joe, Norb & Alex...our deepest sympathies. Pat was truly one of a kind, always a gentlemen, never a curse word to say about anyone or anything, a quiet, consummate professional whether behind the wheel of 80,000 lbs. or behind the yoke at 6000 feet. He was also the guy that would give you his last penny or the shirt off his back. Certainly, one of the bravest men I will ever know...God he fought so hard. My regrets to you that I will not be able to attend as we will not be home. I will follow the chapel web-site and look for the zoom information. If it is available, I will be watching. Either way, know that someone was ALWAYS thinking of him...a good thought for that day. I will continue to remember him and especially you in my early morning meditation time. Ben

Vickie, I can't think of a story that didn't start with "Patrick and I"... You were always his #1 and you stayed by his side through all of his journeys. And, what amazing journeys they were!! Thinking of you and your family, praying for peace, during this difficult time. Sue
