Pete, Our noble and kind friend, Thanks for being a hero throughout your lifetime, you chose to see kindness and light wherever you went and touched us all. You enriched all of our lives and we are grateful for your compassion, empathy and values. Hope you enjoy heaven and spend time catching up with your wife, Mom and the rest of your family members who made the trip north before you did. Thank you, The Rojas Family

Pete was a very dear friend for many years. He was loved and respected by everyone that he met in the halls of Hines VA Hospital. He was the oldest volunteer always helping someone. I will miss my visits with him, we had some great times. Thanks to Lourdes Duarte of WGN News for honoring Pete on his 100th Birthday. Pete turned 102 on December 23rd, 2018. Thank you Pete for everything that you did for all of us at the VA. We will all miss you very much. Rest In Peace. Leo (The V A Barber) Scola

Heaven was blessed with a very special angel last week. I was fortunate enough to meet Peter back in 2010 when I first touched the grounds of Hines VA as a new Social Worker. Running into Peter in the halls routinely brought a moment of sunshine to my days at Hines. Thank you Peter for always putting a smile on my face and reminding me to enjoy the moment. I find comfort in knowing you will be keeping a watchful eye over us now and smiling upon us from above. Rest in peace kind soul.

I met Mr. Poulos 30 years ago when I was a student at Hines. A very nice man. The halls of Hines are not going to be the same without his snow white hair racing down the hall on his scooter. Rest in Peace Good Soldier.
