Quentin E. Grubb

St. Charles

Quentin E. Grubb was born on September 8, 1936 in Covington, IN to the late Granville and Dollie (nee Laird) Grubb. At age 21 he moved by himself to Chicago to attend DeVry. Quentin passed away on April 6, 2021 at 84 years old after a courageous fifteen month battle with cancer. He was very grateful to be in excellent health for his first 83 years. He was proud to say that he never had a headache or spent a night in the hospital until last year.

Quentin was a loving father and grandfather and is survived by his sons, Michael (Susan) Grubb and Matthew (Colleen) Grubb, grandchildren Danielle, Kyle, Grace, and Anna. He is also survived by his sisters, June Stephens and Carolyn Stiffler and many nieces and nephews.

He was a devoted husband and lucky to have shared his life with two wonderful women. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Grubb in 1988, and his wife, Rosemary Grubb in 2020.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Linne and brother, Donald Grubb.

Quentin was a wonderful family man, being very involved in his sons’ lives and loved going to watch his grandkids’ many sports and school events. Throughout his life, he went on numerous cross-country road trips and cruises where he would collect license plates from the places he visited. He loved watching Chicago sports and had a passion for Indiana basketball. He was always an active member of the churches he attended. For those who ever shared a meal with him, he was always the last one finished.

A memorial service for Quentin is planned for Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 9 am to noon. The visitation will be at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapel at 450 W. Lake St., Roselle, IL followed by interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to JDRF or American Cancer Society.
