Raymond  “Ray” J. Rychtanek, 55, passed away on March 19, 2022 at his home in Hanover Park, IL. He was the youngest son of Stephen M. Rychtanek Jr (deceased) and Lorraine Winandy. Dearest brother of Russell (Cherie) Rychtanek, Vincent (Beth) Rychtanek and Matthew (Dawn) Rychtanek. Cherished uncle of Chanson, Russ Jr., Rachel, Amanda, Caitlin, Allison and Madison. Great-uncle of Samuel and Liam Sterling. Best friend, teammate, business partner and travel companion of Tom Valenti for over 30 years. Ray was born and raised in Chicago and attended Lane Tech H.S, Wright Jr. College and DePaul University. An Eagle Scout, Ray also loved baseball, which he played at the Little League, High School, collegiate and semi-pro levels.    A true Chicago sports fan, he loved the Bears, Blackhawks and White Sox. He also enjoyed bowling, golf and played the drums in numerous bands and jam sessions. Ray worked at DePaul University IS department as a database manager for nearly 35 years. Whether you knew him as Ray, Lil Ray, or Uncle Ray, he will be fondly remembered for his generosity, sense of humor and positive attitude. He will be missed, by his family, The Snuggery FFL, the IS Staff at DePaul and everybody whose life he touched.    Consider a donation to the Spondylitis Association of America or a charity of your choosing in his honor. A celebration of life will be held Saturday May 7, 2022, 12 to 3pm at Salerno’s Rosedale Funeral Chapels – Roselle
