Refugio M. Arriola

Refugio “Ray” M. Arriola of Carol Stream, 85 years of age, passed away on Saturday, April 1 st , 2023.
Ray was born on December 1 st , 1937 in Big Wells, Texas to the late Refugio and Gregoria Arriola.
He was one of five children. Francisco, Ismael, and Emma preceded his death but is survived by sister,
Rosa Perales. On August 20 th , 1954 Ray married his wife, Juanita, and six children were born from this
beautiful union. He worked as a Security Guard at DuPage County Courthouse for 14 years before
retiring. When he wasn’t enjoying a cold beer at home or napping on his favorite recliner, he loved to be
with his family outdoors on the golf course or at Arlington Racetrack. And every February he always
looked forward to spending Superbowl Sunday with the family. Go Cowboys!
The fond memories and stories will live on through his wife Juanita and children.
He is survived by Ray Jr. (Teresa) Arriola, Sylvia (Jim) Karakosta, Al (Christine)
Arriola, Suzan (Danny Lee) Arriola, and Marina (Pat) Brandonisio and The Late Frank (Lourdes) Arriola
And grandchildren Angelica (Todd) Manson,
Joey (Tatiana) Arriola, Jimmy (Colleen) Karakosta, Natalie Partipilo, Melissa (Mike) McSwiggan, Priscilla
Arriola, Ashley (Anthony) Buttitta, Jennifer (Derek) Kurland, Anthony Arriola, Michael Arriola, Nicholas
(Bianca) Karakosta, Jaclyn (Anthony) Butchko, Pasquale Brandonisio, Alexander Arriola and The Late Frankie (Karen) Arriola
Survived by great-grandchildren, Frankie Jr., Dylan, Matthew, Trevor, Joshua, Daniela, Ray J., Sydney,
Elena, Jacob, Jackson, Gianna, Anthony, Kylee, Mackenzie, and Caiden.
He will be greatly missed by all.
