Robert J. Jacob, 86, died Friday, September 8, 2017 at his home. He was born May 17, 1931 in Chicago, IL and had been a resident of Roselle for some 15 years where he lived with his beloved wife of 57 years, Virginia until her death in 2014. He worked at several electronics firms over the course of his career as Purchasing Director, traveling extensively throughout Asia until his retirement at age 65.
He was devoted to and is survived by his children: Claudia (Rod) Hoxsey of New Orleans. LA; Larry
(Jean) Jacob of Bloomingdale, IL; Jill Jacob of Des Plaines. IL; Joanne (Ken) Gaines of Chicago, IL; grandchildren: Emily (Tony) Nelan of Austin, TX; Megan Hoxsey of New Orleans, LA and great grandchildren Alexa and Lila Nelan of Austin, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Joseph Jacob and an older brother, Edmund Jacob.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept 14 with a service at 7 p.m. at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. Roselle, 60172 (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Rd)
