Ron was a devoted family man to his wife Susan for 54 years and a loving father
to his son, Kevin (Michelle) Szatko; Loving Son of the late John and Alice; Dear Brother of Geri (Ken) Saari and Dear Uncle of 5.
He was proud of his military service and was honored to be an Army Veteran.

As an avid Chicago sports fan, he especially loved the “Da Bears”. His passion
was fishing and he thoroughly cherished the family summer vacations spent at
Pelican Lake, fishing trips with his son to Canada, and weekends spent at the
cabin at Fence Lake.
For many years Ron was in multiple fishing clubs and was in charge of the
newsletter. He enjoyed spending time with his son coaching Rec Club Baseball
and participating in Cub Scouts.

After retirement his weekends were spent setting up booths at the local flea
market. He delighted in meeting new people and never turned down a
conversation.
Those lucky enough to know Ron were truly blessed.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence, 901
Martha Street, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 in Ron’s memory would be
appreciated.

Have known Ron, his sister Geri, and wife, Susan, since 1963. Always fun visiting with all of them, at his parents home, watching the family dog romp around, who also visited with us, until told not to. Always a fun time, no matter where we all were and/or met. In later years, we visited and all enjoyed having "Carlo" join us! He will be missed.

Susan and Kevin I am most sorry for your loss. I enjoyed every conversation I had with Ron. He always greeted me warmly. I wish you all love and good thoughts.
