Rosa was born the eldest of 7 siblings born in Acerra Napoli Italy 10/12/27.
She farmed the land with her parents. She lived through World War II. She told many stories of her running in the corn fields when they heard the bombings.
She also had wonderful stories the love for her mother her siblings and the fun they had.
She can be described in one word Fierce! In 1948 she married Antonio Manna.
Now Antonio had just come from the war. He had decided he would go to Argentina for work. He went ahead to find a place to live. My mom was to meet him there. After a year he called for her. Rosa boarded a boat by herself to Argentina She was scared and missed her family. She told us stories that she was so seasick she was on that boat for 40 days. She finally arrived and said our father at first couldn’t find her. They lived in a home mostly made of hay and mud. That soon changed my father became a successful business owner. They built a beautiful home. She soon had her first daughter Vincenza. My mom sewed and made bags at home my sister Vincenza would stay home from school to help. Life was hard but she made the best of it. She then had 3 more children John, Cristina and Beatrice. We remember having everything we needed. My mom took such good care of us. She was our protector. My mom would sing these beautiful Italian Songs. My mom really missed her parents and siblings in 1966 the Family decided to move to American. Her family sponsored us so we were able to come to Chicago. My mother and father soon got jobs and we soon bought a home. My mom also worked for Zenith tv. She was always so happy and Joyful. She was strong. She would carry a wheel barrel full of bricks to my dad to build a garage. She always had the best gardens. She always wanted her kids to stay with her. She loved her grandkids and great grand kids. She loved life. She loved her husband. She will never ever be forgotten.
