Ruth E. Tufo (nee Floback) of Bloomingdale passed peacefully surrounded by her close family on April 26, 2022. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband John C. Tufo. Ruth was the proud Mother of John (Lilly) Tufo, Jacqueline (Michael) Hovde and Joseph (Lisa) Tufo; adored Nonnie to Alexandra, Cassondra and James Z. Wallich, Skyler and Joseph Tufo, Jr.; Great Nonnie to Brody, Cayne, Jordan and baby Everly. Beloved Aunt to Anthony Potenzo, Bart (Teresa) Potenzo and Christopher (Shannon) Potenzo. Fond sister-in-law of Angela “Chickie” Potenzo (nee Tufo). Ruth also leaves behind many Floback and Landingham cousins.
Ruth was born to Mary and Walfred Floback on June 21, 1938 in Chicago. She often reminisced about growing up near her extended family and spending summers at Grass Lake. Ruth was friends ‘til the end with school friends Anita and Geri and looked forward to seeing them again. She will also miss Auntie Lou.
Ruth married John C. Tufo in 1958 and raised a wonderful family that ended up long time Bloomingdale residents. Ruth spent some wonderful years in Sarasota, FL but her heart brought her back to Bloomingdale for her final stop.
Ruth was a strong, independent woman who loved to be around people. She was an avid cook, a passionate golfer, a rabid CUBS fan and loved to travel. But Ruth was most happy spending time with her family and close friends over Sunday dinner or a backyard barbeque. Ruth loved her family and will be greatly missed

It is with great sadness that we learned of Ruth's passing. She has been my mother, Rosemary Raffensparger's, best friend since my Mom moved to Alden Gardens. They had great fun together and my Mom loved her dearly. She was a joy to our family. Our deepest sympathy. She will be missed. Terri, Kim and Rosemary
