I am sorry I didn’t come by Salerno’s but wanted to share my condolences with Steve’s family. My connection with Steve is over 32 years apart & I didn’t connect the dots until now. I got to know Steve at Sunrise when he moved in & his room was across the hall from my Father-in-Laws room Steve Rymsza. I called him STEVE 2 & my father-in-law STEVE 1. My wife TERRI & I visited every day & would always peek in to make sure Steve 2 was OK as he liked to watch TV & especially the Bears game on Sunday. After Steve 1 passed away Feb 19 I would still come back to visit & always looked for Steve 2 & say “Hi”. It wasn’t till I heard Steve 2 passed away last week at St Walters announcements & then Ironically heard from a Flying Tigers posting On Facebook that I connected the dots. I knew Steve at Flying Tigers over 32 years ago when I was an Operations Manager on the ramp & he was an aircraft mechanic. He was an amazing & friendly guy then & now. He never changed. I felt there was a special connection with Steve when I saw him at Sunrise as we always enjoyed sitting down & talking but little did I know we went back over 32 years & then reconnected. I now have a feeling he felt it to but we couldn’t put our finger on it. We were both proud Flying Tiger employees in the 70’s & 80’s. And then to reconnect in 2018-2019 at Sunrise was a blessing. Wish I could come to the funeral but during these different times It’s not possible. RIP Steve & blessings to your family. Peace, Rick

In losing my Big Brother I have lost someone who shared my roots, my childhood memories and knew me at level only one other knew. He will be remembered for finding humor in most situations and having a smirkish smile that you never knew what he was up to. He was a boy scout, a member of the Civil Air Patrol, played the clarinet (not very well),a baseball player, and a high school wrestler. He seemed to have a million stories to tell...... all ending with and then I got in trouble. He made us all laugh and sometimes shake our heads. Steve will be missed by so many. When we think of him, we will always smile. Thank you, Steve, for all you did for me and my family.
