Tom was a very dear friend for many years. We are so sorry he will no longer be with us. We are also sorry that we will be unable to attend the memorial tomorrow. He will be in our thoughts tomorrow and always.

I was a fraternity brother of Tommy at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and, together with another fraternity brother, had the privilege and pleasure of spending a summer with him in Europe in 1969. Those were wild times and three young men had a great time and experience. I was in Vienna two weeks ago, reminiscing about time we had spent there together 50 years before. He was a great guy and this is a sad loss of a great friend. My condolences to his family and those who loved him.

As a fellow member of the SFDS class of 1967, I send my sincere condolences to the family of Tom Tyderek. I remember Tom as such a fun guy who filled the room with joy and laughter. I am sure his many students benefitted from his wonderful personality and knowledge. You will be fondly remembered. My best, Judy Dziedzic Mascolino

I was a fraternity brother of Tommy, and he was certainly a great person. I went to Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with Tommy and knew Dorothy very well also. She is a wonderful and kind person. Tommy would do anything for you. I have very fond memories of the time that Tommy and I spent together. My heart goes out to the family. RIP Tommy as you will always have a special place in my heart.

Mr. Tyderek Thank you for taking a shy person and teaching her to be comfortable in her own skin, that she didn’t need to be like everyone else to survive in the world. Thank you for teaching me to be confident when speaking in public, that everyone has a voice no matter how small they feel. Having you as a teacher for 2 years at ICCP you helped me gain a confidence that I would not have had otherwise and helped me become the person I am today. I always thought I’d get the chance to thank you in person, so I guess this is the best I can do. Through all of the students you made an impact on throughout your career your memory and legacy will live on forever.

Mr. Tyderek was a great english teacher. I had him for 2 years of english when i went to I.C... He was a tough teacher and a kind soul. He was a fair and understanding man.. I graduated from IC in 1997.. But i left the school with a greater knowledge of english for when i went into college.. And i thank mr Tyderek for it.. Rest in peace..and thought for you and your family..

I taught English alongside Tom at Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst in the later '70's and early 80's. Tom was a good teacher and good man to work with. He always discussed new pedagogy with enthusiasm and was very respected. R.I.P, Tom.
