Yuan Huang

Interment:

Yuan Huang of Addison, IL passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Thursday, June 4, 2020.

Yuan was born in Beijing, China in 1924 to Ding Hsu Wen and Huang Chi. He was one of five children along with Han, Hsi, Hsiang, and Chieh.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree from National Taiwan University and his Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

After moving to Taiwan to attend university, he met and married Huimei Huang in 1957. They moved to the U.S. during the early 1960’s where they raised their three children. Yuan worked as an engineer at International Harvester, Northrop Defense Systems, and later worked in IT at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center until retirement.

He is remembered most for his humble approach to life, his strong-willed yet gentlemanly manner, a love for food and sweets, and his devotion to family. His enduring selflessness is reflected on the many family members and friends he helped through the years, many of whom he sponsored immigrating to the U.S. to start their families here.

Yuan is survived by his wife of 62 years Huimei, his children and their spouses Jim, Linda and Larry, Richard and Judy, his grandchildren Jessica, Alex, and Kendall, his brother Hsi, his brother-in-law Lih, his sisters-in-law Chin Len and Shu-Ming, and many nephews and nieces.

Due to the current conditions and for the safety of all, a memorial service will be planned at a future date.
