Yvonne was quite the showman! Once you saw a dance recital she put on, no other could compare. She was a wonderful mentor to our children and gave them a sense of discipline and grace. She will be missed.

Neil, Debbie, Brady and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Words can not express my dearest sympathy. She was a wonderful teacher and was so proud of the accomplishments that you all have made with the gym. She will be missed.

So sad and sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Palmer. My family lived across the street from the Palmers on Miner St in Bensenville. When I was in grade school I took ballet, tap and acrobat classes in their basement. She was a great teacher with high expectations. I so appreciated that. May she Rest In Peace with music and dancing in her heavenly home. Hi! To Denice...Remember when we used to play together? So sorry about your Mom.

I am so saddened to hear of your lose Neil & Debbie, Yvonne like your wonderful dad were bigger than life figures in the world of gymnastics and truly two of my mentors. I always thought it was so neat to know that when they were young, your parents and my dad were performers and circus people. Though my dad was a magician and clown ( go figure ) your parents actually performs acrobatics and gymnastics, how cool is that! You have to be so proud to have been around and had such incredible parents. Yes, Yvonne will truly be missed but because of you Neil and your family her legacy in gymnastics still lives on. God bless to you and your family.

Oh my! ... I am so sad to hear of Yvonne's passing. I just returned from a session at the St. Judes Benefit Meet to hear this sad news. At the meet ran into Vicki (von Holst) Sosa, a multi-year national championship qualifier from Gymnastics Unlimited (GU), where we were literally talking about Yvonne and her positive influence on so many kids. It would take a small book for me to cover everything that Yvonne, Leonard and the Palmer family meant to me personally, to GU and to the gymnastics community in particular. Leonard, Yvonne and the Palmer kids played a key role for years as to what Gymnastics Unlimited (GU) was about and I will be forever grateful. They graciously took me in like a stray lost bachelor dog when I needed a place to stay. Yvonne always carried herself like the "winner" she was and it obviously passed off on their children who continue to this day as winners in their own right. Yvonne's legacy will live forever and the entire gymnastics community as well as myself personally will miss her greatly...For Kid's Sake...Coach Barry Keeley

I have so many fond memories of "Mrs Palmer". I first met her and Mr. Palmer at the Addison Park District where they taught tumbling, jazz, tap, and ballet. She was my first ballet teacher. I mostly remember her telling ( yelling) at me to point my toes as I would respond " they are." this continued all the way through my High School gymnastics career!. I also remember how fun and gracious her and Mr. Palmer were. Almost every night after tumbling Mr. Palmer would treat us to Taste Freeze in Addison and Mrs. Palmer was always throwing parties after our dance recitals at her home where she always made my family and I feel welcome. She was a good friend to my parents and to many others. She cared about us. Besides being a teacher, a coach, a mentor, and a friend, she herself was a wonderful dancer, as are all of her girls!! Not too long ago, at one of the GU reunions she made a comment to me. She said "she hoped that she had made a difference in any of our lives" I looked at her and said "of course you have" you were a wonderful teacher and many of your girls have gone on to open their own dance studios. "You did more than you know". I can only hope that she believed what I said because I know we all do! Mrs. Palmer you will be missed. Sincerely, Gina
