Barbara worked for many years as a Manager for Head Start in Bensenville, IL, and was an active member of the PTA in the Addison school district as she raised her children throughout the years. I am praying for the Kudrna family as they grieve through this tough time. I will forever cherish when we would come over during the holidays and spend quality time together either outside playing sports with my cousins Todd and Mike, watching how excited you’d get during the Christmas or enjoying a slice of your amazing French silk pie! These are the memories that will never fade away and ones I will always remember. Rest In Peace Aunt Bard.

I had the honor of calling Barb my big sister for the last 61+ years. She was always the loving big sister when I was little, taking me out with her dates to the zoo, buying me a Halloween costume, she was always looking out for me. After she married Larry they both made me such a big part of their life. I got to be Uncle Steve to her boys. I watched and learned how to take care of children with love. I was so lucky to be included in all the family activities. After I was married we had such fun as couples going on trips, having family dinners, the laughter and love was always there. She was my confidant, my friend. She taught me about Life, Love , Loyalty and Friendship. I thank God daily that he blessed me with Barb as my big sister. I will miss her more than I could ever express.

Oh how we loved and cared for one another. Vacations with our husbands and children. Trips to Las Vegas, cruises, and getting together on New Years so much much more.We argued, made up, but at no time stop loving each other. When I first met her over 50 yrs. ago I knew Larry would marry her, the Love was there before our eyes. She stayed with me with Larry Jr. 10 months when I had my last son. She took care of me and the baby. All the cookies, cook outs I could go on and on. When she told me she had Cancer the lump in my throat hurt so much, but, never did I not give her words of support over these last 3 yr. She fought like a tiger for her family, She took all severe pain and never complained until it was so bad. My journey with her cancer started 3 years ago, My grieving started 3 years ago as I knew this day would come. We are all grieving. I lost my dearest friend, we called each other sisters, we were that close. Barbara, I hope you're happy in Heaven. No more Chemo, no more pain. I know my mom and mom Kudrna welcomed you. They knew you were coming soon. I wish we could do it all over again, but I know that you will watch over us all, Larry, the boys, the grandchildren and finally me. Stay close to all of Barb, we will always need you. You are Heavens newest Angel and ours.
