Betty Pauling, age 92, died peacefully at home on September 8, 2019. Betty was born on June 16, 1927 in Greenwood in McHenry County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Laurence and Agnes Wilson. Betty married at 19 to Robert and they had 10 children. Betty was active in her church and farming community as well as busy raising her children. Occasionally she had part time jobs. She was a member of Catholic Daughters at St. Isidore Parish. She was involved in the Women’s Committee at DuPage County Farm Bureau. She was the first woman on the DuPage County Farm Bureau Board. She is survived by her children Susan (Marino) Petrucci, Virginia (Aaron) Simpson, Thomas (Deborah) Pauling, Doris Drummond, Barbara (John) Sibley, Joseph Pauling and Patti, Mary (Michael) DeMarco, William (Corinne) Pauling, Lawrence Pauling and Connie, and Julie (David) Helmuth. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, Robert, David, Elizabeth, Erin, Jared, Jake, Cassandra, Shane, Dana, Kevin, Brian, Scott, Benjamin, Samuel, Audrey, Grace and Jackson; and 3 great-grandchildren, Maverick, Evelyn and Luke. She is also survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews. Betty is survived by a brother-in-law, Roger Seddon and sister-in-law Pat Wilson. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pauling. We also want to recognize her caregiver, Evelyn Aniban. She was a wonderful friend and confidant to Mom and all of us for over 2 years. She treated her with respect and humor. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 11 from 3-9 p.m. at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapel 450 W. Lake St., Roselle, Il, 60172. A funeral mass and interment will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church 427 W Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale, Il.at 10:45 a.m. Gather at Salerno’s at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Wheaton, Il.
