Dominador Nera Estrada
Dominador N. Estrada, aged 77, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones on June 28, 2020. Affectionately known as “Papa” by those closest to him, he was born on August 4, 1942 in Ponon, Atimonan, Quezon, Philippines to the late Alejandro Estrada and Felicisima Nera. He is predeceased by his son Randy Estrada, his sisters Edeliza and Amelia, and ten half-siblings. He was united in holy matrimony to his loving wife Norma Estrada on October 18, 1963. In this same year, he graduated from Quezon Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and served as a nurse at Cook County Hospital for 32 years. At the age of 55, he retired and lived out the rest of his days enjoying the hobbies he loved most. Those that knew Dominador know that he loved eating at all-you-can-eat buffets, telling larger-than-life stories, trying his luck with Lady Luck at Grand Victoria, and traveling to Wisconsin Dells every summer. At home, he also loved making arts and crafts, writing poetry and stories, and scrapbooking. Dominador wore his heart on his sleeve alongside his countless tattoos, never failing to put a smile on someone’s face with his homemade keychains and jokes. Generous, thoughtful, and candid, he positively impacted family, friends, and strangers alike both here and in the Philippines. Dominador truly was a one-of-a-kind character. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Norma; his sister Nelda; his three children ~ Dondi (Ofelia), Mylene (Steve), and Darlene (Jim); his seven grandchildren ~ Anthony (Gabriel), Donielle, Danene, Ciara, Christopher, Marissa, and Melanie; and his great-grandchild Avel. May he rest in paradise free from pain and suffering.

Death takes our body,
but our Amazing God
takes our souls.
Our minds hold the memories
Our hearts keep our loves.
Our faith lets us know that
we will all meet again,
and no one has to live life
not knowing our love and blessings.
