George Robert Piemonte was born April 5, 1929 in Chicago to George and Esther (Cozzi) Piemonte. From
an early age, George always put in a hard day’s work. From his first job as a watermelon delivery boy to
a bowling alley pin setter, he held many jobs including automotive mechanic, parking lot attendant and
air conditioning technician all in support of his family. He enjoyed repairing and restoring just about
anything. His love for fixing things led to his ultimate vocation of working alongside his family at Aggressive True
Value hardware store in Franklin Park. He worked in partnership with his brother, sister and father for
36 years to build a family business built upon exceptional customer service and a love for helping others.
Above all, George was a man devoted to his family, friends and faith. He was a loving husband and an
incredible father to 13 children, grandfather to 22, great-grandfather to many and uncle to adoringnieces and nephews.
He was a humble man who chose to live his life with integrity, compassion and kindness punctuated
with his sharp wit and humor. His faithfulness for God showed in everything he did from daily prayer, devotion to his church and his
service with the Knights of Columbus.
Beloved husband of the late Marianne (McFadden), devoted father to Karol (Bob) Leon, Joanne
Piemonte, Roberta (Michael) Podobinski, George (Linda) Piemonte, Robert (Birgit) Piemonte, Paul (Tina)
