Graham ‘Mac’ McNamee, of Schaumburg, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021.

Mac was an incredibly active man and not one to sit still for too long. Raising 7 children and working as a milkman up until his first retirement at the age of 62. Soon after he went on to be an adored school bus driver and enjoying his time with the students up until his 2nd retirement at 85.

An infectious laugh, a sturdy handshake, and a warm welcome you knew you’d be in good hands around Mac.

His high school yearbook from 1948 at St Ignatius states that the “corner of Austin and 12th St wouldn’t be the same without him. “ His presence here for the past 91 years spawned a legacy that will last for generations to come and the world won’t be the same without him.

The Rock to all that knew him and the cornerstone to his family. He set the bar high on what a Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather should be.

Graham was born January 4th, 1930 to George and Kathryn (née Gannon) McNamee.
He is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; George, Kathleen Russell, Donald, Roger, and Joan Dvorak.

He leaves behind the greatest gifts anyone could ever ask for. The love and devotion of his life his wife Catherine ‘Kate’ (née Quirk) of 68 years. His 7 children; Patty McGee, Dan (Bekki), Jim (Denise), Maureen (Steve) Knudson, Bill (Lisa), Katie (Mike) Slota, and Julie (Kris) Guy. Along with 24 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren with 2 on the way.

Rest in Peace Great Graham McNamee
