Polito, Joseph Louis, 74, of St. Charles, Illinois passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022. He was born in 1947 in Los Angeles, California, and in 1956 came to reside in Oak Park, Illinois with his parents, Frank and Florence, and his brother, Anthony. Joe was the first college graduate in his family when he graduated June 8, 1969 from Milton College, in Milton, Wisconsin, with a Bachelor’s degree in business. On November 29, 1969 Joe married his college sweetheart, Sandy. They lived in Bloomingdale, Illinois for 31 years where they raised their daughters, Melanie and Valerie. Joe started his career in communications at Motorola and then became an independent dealer for GE and Motorola at Illinois Communications, Inc in 1981. In 1992 Joe became owner of Illinois Communications Sales, Inc. with his wife, Sandy, which continues to operate today. Illinois Communications was one of the first three companies in the world to sell cell phones. Joe was a national award-winning salesman for his industry. He was a businessman that created a successful business one customer at a time. He gained customer loyalty from his honesty and integrity. His work ethic was revered by his colleagues. He treated his employees and customers like family, many of whom stayed loyal to him throughout his career. He was beloved by his large family, church family, and friends. He enjoyed time with family and friends, especially at the beach, as well as golfing, barbecuing on the grill, and telling jokes. He was an honest and humble man who stayed true to his word, doing business on a handshake. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Frank and Florence (nee Giraud) Polito. He is the beloved husband of 52 years of Sandra J. (nee Oxendorf) Polito; loving father of Melanie L. (Troy) Millard and Valerie J. (R. Charles) Daniello; cherished grandpa of Noah F. Millard, Gabriel P. Millard, Aliana M. Daniello, Alexa J. Daniello, and Charlotte R. Daniello; dear brother of Anthony V. (Sharyn) Polito. A visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, Sciaraffa Funeral Directors, 450 West Lake Street, Roselle, Illinois, 60172. The funeral will be Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Cornerstone Faith Community Church, 118 First Street, Bloomingdale, Illinois, 60108, with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The 11:00 funeral service on Thursday, April 14, 2022 will also be available via zoom with meeting number: 82216059762 and zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82216059762. The burial will be immediately following at St. Paul Evergreen Cemetery at 219 East Lake Street, Bloomingdale, Illinois, 60108. The family kindly requests that masks be worn at all times.
