Josephine C. Cortese (nee Tumminaro), beloved wife of the late Frank T. Cortese who passed away in 2012; devoted mother of Robert (Katherine) Cortese and Joanna (the late Patrick) Able; fond grandmother of Jesse (Rachael) Able, Mario Cortese, Hannah (Iain) MacGowan, great grandmother of Anthony Able and Sophia Able; dear sister of Anthony Tumminaro, the late Salvatore Tumminaro and Louis Tumminaro; dear aunt of Frances (the late Paul) Welch, Grace (Matthew) Abitabile, Tim (Kathy) Tumminaro, Jennifer Miller, Peter Tumminaro, Katie (Dan) Anderson, Angelo (Cathy) Tumminaro, Anthony Tumminaro and Angela Tumminaro and great aunt to many others. Funeral Saturday 10:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Geneva, IL.

Aunt Josie took me in for a long stay when we were young helping out my parents during my mom’s illness. Those days impacted me until today she was so great and i used to goof around to make her laugh she always laughed at my shenanigans i loved to make her laugh thats what ill remember most was that kindness and understanding later in life.
