Kevin Monroe, age 20, passed away tragically in a car accident on February 13th 2022. He was a two time cancer survivor, who would have never wanted anyone to know.

But what you DO know is that he was funny, loving, caring, generous, thoughtful, amazing and a true wise ass.

He will be our forever angel, our son, a forever friend, nephew, and grandson

I was one of Kevin’s teachers at Marquardt. Ms. Soerens and I had Kevin in our math class and I would surely call us the lucky ones to have known Kevin. His sheepish smile, kindness and genuine care for others was so delightful to welcome into our class everyday. He always made us smile and laugh! He was truly one of a kind and we will never forget him. Thank you Kevin for the impact you made on my life. Heaven definitely gained an angel.

I was Kevin's freshman English teacher. He was such a delightful young man: funny, honest, kind to others, introspective. He positively influenced so many people in his short time. I am grateful that I had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory is a blessing. I am terribly sorry for your loss, and pray for you peace and comfort.

I knew Kevin from school. He was a great guy, him and I would always have a great time in PE class. After I moved two years ago, I was talking to him every now and then, with our last conversation being back in May. He'll be missed. Rest easy.

I had the privilege of teaching Kevin at East. He was a sweet, smart, and genuine person, who I thoroughly enjoyed having in my class. Not only did his humor and charm add to my class every day, but I just enjoyed getting to know him as a person. I am so sorry for your loss and all of our loss, as his presence in the world will be missed.

Jennifer, I was so sad to hear the news of your son's tragic accident. I will pray for you and your husband to find peace and comfort in knowing that he is free of earthly illnesses and resting in the most beautiful place. I am working on Saturday, so can't stop in at his services but I am hugging you with my heart and lifting you and your family up in my prayers. I'm so very sorry.

I met Kevin when he was a freshman. I was a teacher’s aide in four of his classes throughout high school. The Kevin you described is the same Kevin who showed up at school. He was thoughtful, honest, respectful, and genuine. He spoke of you, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe, enough to see he came from a loving, stable, connected family. He was a pleasure to work with. My deepest sympathy “ No one‘s death comes to pass without making some impression, and those close to the departed inherit part of the liberated soul and become richer in their humanness.” Betty Thermos

I was lucky enough to be Kevin’s math teacher when he was in 7th grade. His smile, wit, and kindness made it one of my favorite classes. There are no words that can make losing such an amazing young man easier. He made an impact on so many of us. While I’ll be out of town and not able to make the services, please know that I’m holding you all in my heart.

Kevin, you left us way too early and we will never understand why. You would always linger behind at the end of class to chit-chat and share any news going on in your life. You were always a voice of reason in our sometimes chaotic classrooms and I was always grateful to you for that. You could be counted on for a kind word and a smile, and you loved to learn. You had already gone through so much in your young life and I was honored that you felt comfortable sharing this with me. You had a higher understanding of what was important in life. I know you are happy wherever you are. Please find a way to bring comfort to those you have left behind.

Well Kev- you finally have me at a loss for words. I’ve got no comebacks for this one kiddo. The only solace is knowing you will never suffer again. There’s a silver lining to everything, I guess. Thank you for the memories bubba, I will cherish them for all of my days. Love you bro, no homo
