To Gisela, Anita, Mark, and family, My heart is broken for all of you. What an amazing, warm, funny, wonderful man. I've had the pleasure of knowing Knut my whole life. He'd be my 2nd dad. He met me as a baby, when I cried for hours on end crossing over the Atlantic on an airplane from Germany. I grew up just down the street, and enjoyed his laughter, patience, guidance, and caring for 50 years. Knut had the greenest thumb. He'd be tending to his garden, growing everything imaginable, and then watch over his bounty with a beer. Knut coached soccer, and though I was never on his team, he showed us some of his moves in the backyard. He loved the outdoors. A favorite memory is Knut trying to show Anita and I how to set up a tent for our just girls camping trip. Comical, but we did it! He worked hard in the basement with his drafting / design. The basement was a great hangout as a kid, and I enjoyed looking at his drawings and pictures of himself as a boxer. Knut will truly be missed by many. When I think of all the people in the world, Knut was one of the few real good ones. Loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and so much more. We have another angel among us. Enjoy your beer with my dad, Knut. Rest in peace. Love, Heidi
