Margaret Faith (Bird) Cheng

Margaret Faith Cheng, 86, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

She was born February 21, 1934, in Duluth, Minnesota to Knowles and Margaret (Smith) Bird.

Faith was the oldest of six children. She graduated from Garland (Texas) high school in 1951, and from Texas Women’s University in 1956 (social work).

Faith married Hsuch-Rong “Ronald” Cheng In October 1960.  (1932–2002). Faith was extraordinarily loving, generous and intelligent and always put her children before her own needs. She had many interests, including history (her minor in college), music, doll collecting, reading and movies. Beyond her immediate family she adored her many relatives and friends.

Faith is preceded in death by her husband, Ron, her parents, sister Jane, brothers Dwight and Herschel.

Faith is survived by her children, Mark (Laureen) Cheng of Schaumburg, Illinois, Janice Faith Cheng of Streamwood, Illinois, grandchild Linnea Cheng, her brother Charles (Clare) Bird of Waxahachie, Texas, Tom (Pat) Bird of Kingwood, Texas. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Peggy Bower of Denton, Texas, and Betty Bird of Frisco, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

Faith’s family would like to thank the staff and management of Lexington Health Care Schaumburg for the wonderful care given to Faith the last 17 months.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that a memorial contribution be made to the family for a gift that will go to those staff members.
