Rich Campisi 1944-2022 ~ Richard Anthony Campisi age 78 born in Chicago Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2022, after an 11 year fight with Lung cancer.

Rich willingly enlisted in the US Marine Corp Corps in 1963 to serve our country in the Vietnam war as Lieutenant Marine. He longed to return home to marry his childhood sweetheart Marlene and start a family with the love of his life. He was a proud local 701 electrician, where he made many life long memories and great friends. His laughter and humor was infectious and hereditary in the life of his sisters, Joan and Barb as well as his children and grandchildren. Rich created happiness wherever he went, both in life and in the sharing of his perfectly made meatballs.

Rich lived an entire life of loyalty and integrity, preserving through all life has brought him, most especially in his final weeks of life.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Campisi; and his eldest sibling Barbara Campisi; and loving late wife Marlene Campisi.

He is survived by his beloved sister Joan Dutchak; caring children Kelly and Rick Campisi; and adored grandchildren Grace, Isabella, Joseph and Ava.

Rich lived a life that modeled laughter and sacrifice. Leaving behind a great example of both strength and joy endured as one. May his his laughter and remembrances continue to do the same for us , as he rests peacefully in the fullness of Heavens embrace.

Uncle Rich- You were always a fun Uncle! You did things like, tie my loose tooth with dental floss and then to the doorknob! (I don't remember what happened next). You helped push me on my new red bike, I didn't know how to ride it yet! (Kel remembers that day). You came to some of my softball games to cheer me on! You always made me laugh!! I will miss you!! Love you!

When I think of you dad. The word Honor comes rising to my heart. Has the world ever seen a greater friend of honor and integrity then you… I think not. What a true blessing and honor it will be, to hold that torch you first rose up for your family, dad. To honor your family like a friend, to love and live for their good. You gave us a kind and loving model , to raise the next generation of Campisi name to the heights of your great love and heart for your family. Your love will never ever leave any one of us. It remains forever. Engrained, inside every good thing that your life here ever displayed. Ever gave, ever sacrificed. And it will live on in your name. May we give up our own lives for eachother with the same gladness that you gave up your own for the sake of love. “ Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13

Rich was my brother-in-law and a person I always considered to be a great friend. It was always a pleasure to see him. He did his best to make everyone feel comfortable. His sense of humor was always present to make everyone feel welcome. He was always upbeat, a great listener, and the kind of man we all hope to become. He was a great Dad and Granddad. Rich will be very much missed. Rest in peace my dear friend with love – Dan

What do you say about such an amazing human being? Rich had a great sense of humor and a heart of gold and was a great friend. A perfect family man who always smiled when he talked about his two wonderful kids and grandchildren. He was a man who fought for our country and a perfect gentleman. You will be greatly missed but knowing that your up there with Marlene makes me smile. Heaven has a new angel.
